Each 5th Sunday, instead of our regular Sunday gathering, we set aside a day to encourage everyone to enjoy the gift of rest. There will be no gathering at Hyperion this day. Spend time in nature or with loved ones, wander, nap, walk, savor something you love or spend some time in intentional reflection.
Annie Dillard, in her book The Writing Life, says, “How we spend our days is of course how we spend our lives.”
Sabbath Sunday is a good time to reflect on how we are spending our days. Here are some reflection questions you may find helpful to explore alone or with a companion:
How is it with your soul?
What are you giving your time & attention to in this season? How is your “rhythm” of life?
What is drawing you deeper into Jesus’ way of love, joy, justice, peace, & mercy? What feels like it’s pulling you away?
Is there anything you are sensing it’s time to let go of? Anything you are sensing you want to invest more in?
