Exploratory Sunday Grants

The Well has received a generous grant through the Lilly Endowment Clergy Renewal Programs so that our pastor can receive a sabbatical, and we can enjoy our own season of renewal while she is away. The dates are July 24-October 23 and our theme is Rest & Rekindle: making room to breathe deeply, connect soulfully & explore freely. Two of our Sunday gatherings will be “Exploratory Sundays” and YOU are invited to submit proposals for creative Sunday gathering ideas you would like to help bring to life! It could be something related to Church in the Wild or a community event you’d like to plan or something else. The vision team will choose the two ideas that seem to resonate most deeply with the sabbatical theme and fund them at $500 each.

Think: What kinds of gatherings might foster connection, help us experiment with new life-giving practices or share meaningful conversation? What are some small ways we can reconnect with our neighbors together? What are some small ways we can show up & express care for one another for creation?

Please share a description of what you have in mind (please include details about the gathering, where/when/what time, including possible dates in August-October & what if any assistance / volunteer help will be needed). [Example: I would like to coordinate a family-friendly fall park picnic at Liberty Park to share food and friendship with neighbors on a Sunday in October. I will create a sign-up for food. I will need Flower to share details in the weekly update and create a FB event.]
