Upcoming Sundays Together: Everything Changes

So many of the conversations I’ve had lately have been about how to navigate the host of changes we are experiencing all. the. time. Directions, identities, vocations, desires, beliefs, bodies, laws and families change. And that’s just the short list! We are constantly asked to learn new ways of relating and being in the world, which often involves letting go of old ones - and I don’t need to tell you that letting go can be hard.

Despite our discomfort, our dismay and at times our dread, change is an unavoidable part of being human.

During our upcoming Sunday gatherings, we’ll be exploring some stories from scripture, from our lives & from the world around us that involve change and encourage us to wrestle with some important questions like…

How do we navigate these changes? What grounds us, guides us & helps us move through them? How do we discern the way forward when change leaves us feeling untethered or adrift? What deeper wisdom is available and how do we access it?

Along with our Sunday gatherings, we are also experimenting with what we are calling a “clearness circle”. Sometimes change is cause for us to circle up with trusted companions. A clearness circle is a group of friends who gather to make intentional space for generous listening, open-ended questions and deep presence with an individual who is seeking clarity about an issue or decision related to her or his personal life or work (or both). We are forming a clearness circle and are seeking 2-3 additional individuals who are interested in being a part of that group of friends. We will be using an abbreviated version of the Quaker Clearness Committee and you can learn more here. Once we know who is interested in participating, we will plan a time to meet. Please email Michelle if you are interested.

I look forward to creating space for us to remember who we are in the midst of so much change and to seek the life-giving, love-centered way of Jesus together on Sundays & throughout the week as we gather in lots of different ways.

Susan
