Celebrating with Community & Kindness!
Five years ago this March, we began meeting in a soul food diner on Springfield’s Main Street. Since then, The Well has grown into a spiritual community that is practicing the way of Jesus together in laundromats, parks, community partnerships & homes. While we are always a work in progress, we are so thankful for the journey thus far.Turning “5” is no small thing and we want you to celebrate with us!Join us for a Party in the Park at Liberty Park (1938 Liberty Street) on Saturday, March 5th from 2-4 p.m. for food, conversation and outdoor fun together. Please invite neighbors & friends. Come for community, to enjoy the park or just come to see one of our favorite spaces to "be church" together.Join us to celebrate in another way, too. Stories of division and violence fill headlines and one way we want to celebrate is by telling a different story. Throughout March, celebrate The Well by spreading kindness. Share what you are doing through social media, using #KindnessConfetti and #TheWellatSpringfield. Here are some suggestions if you need them:
- Donate school supplies to our neighborhood elementary school, Andrew Robinson (they are always in need of supplies!)
- Buy a cup of coffee for a stranger
- Clean up a block in your neighborhood (or ours!)
- Pay forward a load of laundry at a neighborhood laundromat (see this post for more info about why this is so helpful!)
- Donate t-shirts to Rethreaded
However you choose to celebrate, we appreciate the love. Thank you for cheering us on!Peace & love,Susan
